Beginner Cold Process Soap Class March

How do you do this soapmaking thing anyway? Is lye dangerous? Can I use food colors? What if I want to use only olive oil? What's the best ingredient?

Learn how to make Cold Process (countertop) soap in a small group of no more than 5 students. We'll make a batch of soap together, learn about the chemistry of the process and how to make substitutions of one oil for another, and you'll take home a bar of Mission Peak Soap at the end of your lesson. After one week, when your soap is harder, we will mail your soap that you made to you — you'll have over one DOZEN bars of soap!

Mission Peak Soap has been making soap for years, and we will guide you through best practices for lye safety, soap formulation, and what oils make the best lather. If you've never made soap, this is your best bet to walk through the process at your pace. If you've made some soap, and would like an experienced soapmaker to help you troubleshoot your technique, this is also your best class. If you are an experienced soapmaker looking for giudance with swirls, scaling up, formulation, or using luxury ingredients, then the private soapmaking class is a better choice.
